The Puna is untamed, immense and inhospitable: a whimsical landscape that seems to come from another planet, where life makes its way in the most extreme conditions. There, altitude and the four elements make the terroir a perfect place to craft unique wines. The area's wide temperature range, with up to 20°C of difference between day and night, makes the grapes build up large amounts of tannins, polyphenols and anthocyanins, while the shallow, well-drained slate soils bring a very distinctive minerality. From here come the Torrontés, the Malbec in its Reserva and Gran Reserva versions, the Cabernet Franc, the Syrah, the Tempranillo and the Helios, Occidente and Recóndito lines, the latter made at 3,350 metres in La Poma, among the highest wines in the world.
