Carmenere is the grape that Chile made its own, and in the Rapel Valley, it found its best home. Born in the French Médoc but almost forgotten there, today it is the variety that best represents the Chilean character: it ripens late, needs sun and patience, and when everything goes well, it produces wines of unique personality.

In San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, on clay-loam soils and with the Mediterranean climate doing its job, this Carmenere is harvested at the precise point of ripeness to avoid those green notes that sometimes betray it. In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red, almost violet, and on the nose, ripe black fruits—blackberry, plum—appear, along with spicy notes and a slight smoky touch from barrel aging.

It rests for a time in French oak, just enough to add complexity without overshadowing the varietal character. On the palate, it is silky, medium-bodied, with round and well-integrated tannins. A long, persistent finish, with that herbaceous signature so characteristic of well-made Carmenere. A Chilean red with its own identity, perfect for pairing with a barbecue.
